Abstract Images.

Hello.

It has been months since I last put a post on, I'm sorry about that. Several issues and problems followed each other in the passed few months. There's no point me going over them, so on with this new blog post.  

As always, I shall only add comments about any work here, if I think they may be of interest.

This post is a mixture of my abstract digital art, photos and two photos which I printed using a Gel plate. This is a new technique to me. I'm still trying to get to grips with it. Gel plate printing has unlimited creative potential. 

The first image was inspired by me having looked at a lot of deep space images from NASA. I'm impressed by the size of the gas clouds out there. Many of them are busy making new suns and galaxies. This image is my artistic response to those star factories.

This next one is unusual for me. It's in pastel colours, I normally prefer vivid, saturated ones. It was an experiment, to see what I could do with a muted colour pallet. I rather like the result.

Bell UFO.

I was siting quietly, when this caught my eye. I love shadows, they are one of my favourite sources of inspiration. The shadow(s) I use, may not always be obvious in an image but will be somewhere in the finished result. With the photo below, I liked the interplay of the shadows cast by the net curtain, with the other elements in the picture.

Last Post for 2020. My latest art and one or two photos.

Hello world. A very merry Christmas to all those viewers of my blog who celebrate it.

The card below is one of my own designs.

Ok, here we go with the last post I'll put on the blog until 2021. I don't seem to remember very much about this year.

As always, I shall only comment on an image if I feel it needs one.

The first image is a self portrait of me travelling during lockdown.

Now we have what is only the second guest artist on my blog. Anne, my wife, took the photo. I thought it was wonderful and asked if I could show it. Some of you will realise that the title is a play on words of the title of a famous painting.

It's time I put another photograph in. The shot below was taken in a burned out building. It's the starter electronics for a fluorescent tube. I liked it as soon as I saw it. Once I'd put it on the computer, it seemed flat and lacking. I spent a very long time thinking about how to get the best out of it. It took even longer to achieve the effect. The starter now seems to be 3-D, well separated from the background and hanging in free space. It's yet another image I'm thinking of putting on my wall.

I told a friend of mine that I thought I could live with the next image in the front room. For some strange reason, he said that I might find it would haunt me. I find it quite restful, not at all scary or sinister.
